INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION You are viewing my 1976 Ford Elite. Originally built with a small block V8, it is now equipped with a fresh 429 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8, a built "C6" three speed automatic, and a 3.91:1 "locking" nine-inch rear differential. Elite "purists" may have stopped reading after the first paragraph because this car clearly is no longer an unmodified original. The 429 engine never appeared in the Elite (its 385-series "cousin" the 460 did) let alone a Cobra Jet version of it....
