1978 was Cadillac's last year for the large Eldorado. To commemorate this, Cadillac made a very limited production called the "Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic". This special build of only 2,000 total units was announced to Cadillac dealers in April of 1978 and was produced between May and July of 1978.
