In 1996 Chevrolet issued a Collector Edition of the Corvette. The original Collector Edition featured an Lt4 engine. The car was issued in one color only, with the skunk stripe and the diagonals on the left front fender. This car was the only one with a six speed transmission. To follow up on its popularity Chevrolet made the Grand Sport package with the Collector Edition package available as options.
