I first came across this 1971 BMW 2002 in a barn on a Siler City, NC farm around 2009. The owner threw bales of hay in the trunk to haul across the field to his horses. When I asked what he wanted for it, he replied, “offer me anything,” so I did and he accepted. I trailered it home, rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the front brakes and immediately began enjoying it.
